Squash at Sunset

For the first time ever, a major squash championship is to be held in Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia (December 16th-20th). Not only is it a major event for squash fanatics in this region, but it also falls under the Super Series Platinum level. This is the highest rating on the PSA Tour calendar due to its total grand prize of over $120,000.
The event will take place in Sunset Beach Al-Khobar. The whole event is paid for by sponsors and the revenue will be given to local charitable organizations. The world’s top 32 players will participate in this event, including Bandar Al-Otaibi who will be representing Saudi Arabia.

I attended some matches last night. The event is well organized, though I expected to see more people there. I guess it was not advertized well enough to atract more people, Squash is not a big game in Saudi Arabia, but we could have attracted fans from all over the middle east.
I got a chance to watch World Number 1 Thierry Lincou play last night. Just by watching him, you can tell why he's world number 1, he makes it look so easy just like a walk in the park.
