Thousands of Scholarships Lift Saudi Enrollments in U.S.

    I don’t get it why would this help lift the ideology??? It will only promote an open-minded approach towords issues regarding the US...or maybe saudi too... bass

    First, they are sending people not only to the US, but to the UK, Canada, etc. The people who go there will get exposed to the culture of the host country and to other cultures through their interaction with other international students. In my opinion, getting exposed to diversity is the best way for the person to develop an open-mind and tolerance for others and their idiologies.

    Interesting. My wife's father worked at the Saudi Embassy here in the USA for 25 years. We are friends with the head of the Saudi Cultural Mission here. I know that after 9/11 the numbers of Saudi students coming to the USA dropped.

    I wonder if they are relaxing some of their rules as well? They used to be pretty strict on GPA required to get the Graduate Studies scholarship.
