Historic Saudi Arabia vote

This is very exciting!

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- For the first time in Saudi Arabia's history, voters went to the polls over the weekend to choose from a list of candidates that included women http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/11/27/news/saudi.php

Excellent News… Congratulations everyone! We’re that closer to achieving our ultimate Goal, allowing women to drive. Thank God we don’t have other concerns some unfortunate countries have like corruption, public moral decay, or bad education.

I still can't see why we have to solve our problems one by one in order of importance. If you have two problems and one will take 5 years to solve and another that will take 5 months to solve, you can (and should) start solving both at the same time. It's not like we have terrible resource constraints. In short, having other more pressing problems (that we still can't/dont know how to solve) is a bad excuse for not solving problems we can and know how to solve. But that's just my opinion.

I agree it’s an accomplishment, though minor. I was just commenting on your excitement :D. I mean come on? Were you “VERY” excited to hear this? Really? Or did you just say that to get the female vote in some campaign your running.

No I AM VEEEERY excited because, in a culture like ours, the fact that at least some people have accepted women as potential members of the Board of a public institution is no small feat. And no, i'm not running any campaigns. (plus being popular with the masses is a negative in my book :p)
